How to prevent JD from waking up HDDs when it is in idle

Especially headless package installations of JD are sometimes writing log-output to the system partition which will then wake up the systems' HDDs.
This guide has only been tested with a Synology Community package installation (DSM6)!

  1. Close JDownloader
  2. Open this file: /var/packages/JDownloader/scripts/start-stop-status
  3. It contains the following line:
    LOGFILE="/var/log/JDownloader.log"
    Change it to:
    LOGFILE="/dev/null"
  4. Save the file.

Now JD should'nt wake up your HDDs anymore.
