Understanding common JDownloader error messages

An error message is a useful starting point, not always proof that something is broken. The same status can have different causes depending on the website and account used.

Common statuses

First checks

  1. Install available JDownloader updates and restart once.
  2. Note the exact status message and affected host.
  3. Open the original URL in a browser; check whether login is required.
  4. Test another link from the same host, then a link from a different host. This helps isolate the cause.
  5. Avoid reinstalling JDownloader for a host-specific error; it rarely fixes a broken host plugin.
  6. If the issue persists, send support example URLs, the exact status, whether an account is involved, and a log.
